| James Omnik Jr. (Ahsaqaq)
James Sr. Learned his method of basket making from his father, which
passed on from his grandfather. James Sr., an Inupiaq from Point Hope
Alaska, has been making baskets for about 18 years and has taught others
the art. Although James Sr.'s baskets are recognizalbe by their round
shape, he has a distinctive whale tail carved from ivory as the top on
all his baskets. |
