Description
Skin Umiak Boat by Charles Carnahan (24") Hand-Crafted of Deer Skin. Depicts whalers chasing the
bow-head whale. To this day the Inupiat chase bow-heads with paddles & boats made from bearded seal
skin with hand thrown harpoons. These boats and weapons have been used by the Inupiat for the last 1000
years or more by hunters from Pt. Hope, Alaska.
